All-New 2022 Toyota Tundra Production line in USA (Texas Plant) Texas pride is shining bright in San Antonio as production of the all-new pick-up truck 2022 Toyota Tundra shifts into drive at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas (TMMTX). Only trucks with the standard twin-turbo V-6 are being built, with the new iForce MAX hybrid and TRD Pro models set to arrive in the spring. That twin-turbo V-6 engine replaces the old generation's 5.7-liter V-8 and produces 348 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque in the base SR model and 389 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque in the higher trim levels. Tundras can tow up to 12,000 pounds, which is 1800 more than the previous-generation truck, and its max payload is rated at 1940 pounds. Rear- or four-wheel-drive models are available in either crew- or extended-cab configurations with the choice of 5.5-, 6.5-, or 8.1-foot beds.
